What You Can Expect From Us
Floor Tile Replacement and Grout Repair
Cracked grout in a floor is more than unsightly. If not treated, it can cause damage to the floor’s underlayment and possibly create the need for costly replacement of the entire floor.
The Groutsmith can remove and replace the damaged grout. We can also replace cracked tiles if you have replacement tiles available.
Surfaces should not be stepped on or touched for 24 hours and must remain dry for at least 3 days.
Shower Grout Repair and Color Restoration
Shower repair and restorations can consist of cleaning, grout repair, grout sealing, color restoration or color matched caulking. Our experts will evaluate your shower and only recommend the work needed to properly repair or restore it.
*Shower sealing will require the shower to remain dry the day of service & 5 days following for color-seal or restoration seal. 3 days for clear seal. .Micron coated showers must not be used for 7 days after completion.
*If repair work is done as well, it will require the shower to be dry day of service, allow the grout to cure for 5 days, then we seal it & it will need to remain dry for the additional days based on type of sealer.
When regularly cleaning your shower, it is important to use products that are not harmful to the sealers. We recommend a non-acidic cleaner to obtain the maximum life of the sealer. The Groutsmith offers two types of non-acidic cleaners; Our GOLD, which is a spray on/wipe off pH balanced maintenance cleaner, & our GREEN, which is a deep cleaner. NO ACIDS.
Color Matched Caulking
The old caulking is removed and new color matched caulking is professionally installed to seal joints and seams in showers, bathtubs, vanities, sinks and countertops. Our siliconized acrylic caulks are resistant to mold and mildew. 90 day warranty on caulking.
Cracking & splitting occurs for a variety of reasons; significant temperature changes, excessive vibrations in your home, too much flex in the materials surrounding the caulk, etc. If you find yourself experiencing this type of deterioration within 90 days of completion, please give us a call to address the issue.
Improperly installed products, poor ventilation, and improper cleaning and maintenance are the primary causes of unsightly mold in bathroom areas. Mold & mildew can grow on caulking when an area is wet for too long. There is no such thing as mildew or mold-proof caulk, only mildew/mold resistant. Ideally, wet areas should dry out completely at least once a week to minimize any mildew or mold growth.
Routine caulk replacement can:
Prevent health issues caused by mold.
Prevent water from leaking outside of your tiled area.
Drastically improve or completely change the look of an existing tub, shower, sink or backsplash.
The caulk used in your bathroom and/or kitchen protects the wall behind it and the sub-floor below it from water damage. It is a good practice to periodically replace old caulk and recaulk joints between the tiles and your tub, shower, sink, or any place two planes of tile or two different construction products come together.
Another good reason to recaulk is to remove the black mold that sometimes grows in and behind the caulking. Properly installed caulk can be damaged by improperly scrubbing or using acidic products. Damaged caulk allows moisture to have an open path to substructures and promotes the growth of mold. Recaulking should be considered in your annual bathroom maintenance checklist.
Floor Tile Rebonding
Floor Tile Re-bonding is a repair procedure that re-secures loose and hollow tile to the subfloor. We inject our proprietary tile adhesive through holes in the grout to fill the voids between the tile and subfloor. When the adhesive dries the floor is solid and the loose tiles are re-secured to the subfloor. The grout is then color matched and repaired. Surfaces should not be stepped on or touched for 24 hours & must remain dry for at least 3 days.
Granite & Natural Stone Sealing
Stone gives residential and commercial properties a classic, elegant appearance, but it requires care and cleaning to keep it looking its best. Otherwise, stone surfaces can start to look dull or show signs of damage, such as chips and cracks.

Most stone materials, such as marble, travertine and granite, are highly durable, but some are more porous than others. These materials are more prone to stains, which can set in quickly without proper sealing. They can also chip or crack more easily than harder types of stone. Our experts understand how important it is to properly care for these surfaces based on factors such as density and color. When given proper care, stone surfaces can last for years. *We do not do honing & polishing which is necessary if you have etching or chips.
Granite, Marble and Natural Stone Floors and Countertops are professionally cleaned and sealed. The Grout can also be Repaired, Restored and Sealed.
We offer 3 different finishes to choose from–matte, shiny & a color enhancer
Clear sealed granite countertops will be ready for small applliances & light use within 2 hours of sealing. They should not be cleaned or wiped down with any liquids or water for 2 days after sealing.
Anti-Slip Treatment
Groutsmith Slip-Resist treatment was developed to improve the friction on tiled areas that are slippery when wet. This treatment is excellent for shower floors, bathroom floors, porcelain bath tubs, public areas, public restroom, locker rooms, and any tiled area that safety from slipping is a concern. Slip-Resist works by creating microscopic pores on the treated surface, that will create a vacuum or suction effect when wet, thereby reducing the risk of slip and fall injuries.

Shower
EnduroShield® leads the industry in both water and oil repellent coatings, which provides maximum protection against staining. When professionally applied, EnduroShield provides a true performance warranty, that it will remain water repellent with a bead angle greater than 70 degrees, which we accept as a minimum measurement for an easy to clean surface.
Some professionally applied coatings claim they will last the distance, but only warrant that they will remain more water repellent than untreated glass. Untreated glass is measured at a low angle of approximately 15 degrees. These coatings therefore do not hold themselves to a minimum water repellency measurement.
These coatings often require unrealistic daily cleaning tasks to be performed or revitalizer products to be purchased in order to maintain the coating and the warranty. This is why not all products and warranties are the same. EnduroShield does not sell after care products because they are not required to maintain performance. These are some of the many reasons why the largest glass providers choose to offer EnduroShield to their customers.
